Sone Chidaiya: Shooting starts from Jan, Sushant and Bhumi to play Dacoits of Chambal
Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar are all set to work for Abhishek Chaubey’s next Sone Chidaiya. Abhishek has also directed Udta Punjab. The film Sone Chidaiya narrates the tale of the Chambal dacoits is set in 1970’s. The shooting will be starting at the end of this January. However, Sushant would be reaching earlier for preparation for his role.
According to the report, “Sushant is playing a dacoit for the first time and wanted to get into the character before the schedule starts so he will leave for the location on January 12 to spend time with a few former dacoits. He will also lose some muscle weight to look the rustic part as well as learn rifle-shooting.”
Bhumi will also play the role of a dacoit and Sushant’s love interest. Bhoomi has expressed her excitement over working in a challenging film. “I am very excited to play this character. It is a challenging script and film,” she had said.
Apart from these two leads, the film also features Manoj Bajpayee essaying a pivotal role. The source further added, “The cast will also have to work on the Bundelkhandi dialect. Abhishek is leaving for Chambal on January 8 for a two-month schedule. This will be followed by a shorter schedule in Mumbai at a later stage.”
Talking about his role in the film, Manoj Bajpayee had said in an earlier interview, “Yes, that’s true. We are yet to zero in on a name for my character. I always wanted to work with Abhishek as I’m a huge admirer of his work. I have seen all his films, from Ishqiya and Dedh Ishqiya to Udta Punjab.” He further added, “He picks his stories from rural or semi-urban areas and weaves them beautifully. When I got a chance to be a part of his story-telling, I couldn’t turn it down. For me, this film is not so much about the role as it is about working with Abhishek Chaubey.”
