DIY hair mask for hair growth
Gooseberry (Amla)- Aloe vera hair mask
Vitamin C present in Amla helps in synthesizing collagen protein. This helps in stimulating hair growth, both length and volume wise. Collagens replace the dead cells of hair follicles with new hair cells. avoiding hair thinning, baldness, and hair weakness. A fit hair is the one that has the strength to fight all the hair problems. The antioxidants present in amla help fight free-radical damage and thus is considered an excellent ingredient to prevent hair loss and gray hair. Aloe vera helps repair dead hair follicles on the scalp and stimulate dormant follicles, promoting hair growth. It also conditions your scalp, prevents itching and reduces dandruff.
- Gooseberry (Amla) powder – ½ cup
- Coconut oil (deep nourishment) – 1 tablespoon
- Aloe vera gel (repair dead follicles) – 2 tablespoons
Mix the ingredients and apply on your scalp and hairs for 30 minutes and wash with shampoo.

Coconut, Avocado Hair Mask
Coconut has long been used to strengthen hair and give it a beautiful shine. Extra-virgin coconut oil contains essential fatty acids that easily penetrate deep into the hair follicles as well as the scalp and nourish the strands from within. The oil is also an antifungal and antibacterial agent that helps ward off dandruff, scalp acne, infections, and inflammation. Avocados are also a great source of healthy fats that leave a deep conditioning effect on your hair.
- Avocado – ½
- Extra-virgin coconut oil – 1 teaspoon
- Aloe vera gel – 1 teaspoon
Mix all the ingredients together, and apply the mask to the scalp and hairs for 15-20 minutes, wash your hairs with the mild shampoo.
Castor oil, Egg, and honey mask-
Castor oil can be used on the scalp to help prevent and remedy hair loss and it is effective at this for several reasons. It’s antibacterial and antifungal properties make it beneficial against folliculitis, dandruff and scalp infections and its ricinoleic acid content help increase circulation to the scalp and improve hair growth. Ricinoleic acid is also said to help balance scalp pH which can also help replenish the scalp’s natural oils and undo some of the damage of harsh chemical hair products. Honey is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air into the skin and ensures it’s retained it in the layers where it’s needed most for penetrating long-lasting hydration.
- 2 tbsp castor oil
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp honey
Mix all the ingredients in a blow and apply to scalp and hairs 30 minutes and wash your hairs with the mild shampoo.
Honey and yogurt hair mask-
Honey holds the moisture and also strengthens the hair follicles. Honey also comprises antibacterial and antiseptic qualities. This prevents scalp infections and soothes issues like dandruff, eczema, and psoriasis, allowing for unhindered hair growth.
- 2 Whole Eggs
- 1 cup Honey
Beat the eggs and add honey to it, mix well and apply to scalp and hairs for 15- 20 minutes later wash using a mild shampoo.
Yogurt and honey hair mask-
Yogurt is rich in vitamin B5 and proteins that are beneficial for hair. The protein content in curd helps to moisturize hair and get rid of dandruff. The curd is a good conditioner for hair which also imparts shine and prevents dandruff.
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- ¼ cup yogurt
Mix the ingredients well. Apply to scalp and hair, and allow to sit for 15-2o minutes. Rinse and wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
