What is Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)-
It is an Autoimmune disease in which body’s immune system works against own body cells. Arthritis is a joint disorder featuring inflammation. This creates inflammation that causes the tissue that lines the inside of joints (the synovium) to thicken, resulting in swelling and pain in and around the joints. The synovium makes a fluid that lubricates joints and helps them move smoothly.
Arthritis is classified as one of the rheumatic diseases. These are conditions that are different individual illnesses, with differing features, treatments, complications, and prognosis. They are similar in that they have a tendency to affect the joints, muscles, ligaments, cartilage, and tendons, and many have the potential to affect internal body areas as well.
Rheumatoid Arthritis Care- Exercise
Stretching is the best exercise to reduce stiffness. You can march in place and pump your arms either sitting or standing. Then stretch and hold different muscles and joints for 10 to 20 seconds before releasing.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis show higher improvements in health after participating in hydrotherapy—exercising in warm water—than with other activities. Studies show that people with RA who participated in hydrotherapy had less pain and joint tenderness. Swimming and water aerobics, also improve the use of affected joints and decrease pain.
Moving Meditation also know as Taichi. It is a traditional Chinese martial art known for both its defense techniques and its health benefits. This exercise involves slow and gentle movements with mental focus. This exercise improves muscle function and stiffness and reduces pain and stress levels in patients with RA.
Walking is the most convenient way of exercise, walking can loosen your joints and help reduce pain. Research has found that just 30 minutes of walking a day can boost your mood, too.
Cycling helps maintain cardiovascular health, increases leg strength, and reduces morning stiffness. You can bike outside, join a cycling group, or use a stationary bike at the gym or in your home. People with RA are at higher risk of cardiovascular disease-related complications. Biking is an excellent, low-impact exercise that’s easier on the joints.
Rheumatoid Arthritis Care- Diet
A natural chemical in olive oil stops the production of the chemicals that cause inflammation. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin and ibuprofen lower inflammation by curbing the production of these same chemicals.
The stem of pineapple contains a digestive enzyme called bromelain, which is considered to reduce inflammation in people with RA.
Pomegranate juice has many beneficial properties, including inhibiting inflammation, which makes it helpful for people with RA study published in Advanced Biomedical Research in March 2014.
A study published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences in June 2016 found that luteolin and other flavonoids help block inflammatory proteins. Further studies of parsley and its effect on people are still needed, but the easy-to-grow herb is another anti-inflammatory food that just might help reduce pain and stiffness while it brightens up your vegetable salads.
Black pepper containing- Capsaicin is thought as a key component that give rheumatoid arthritis relief.
