This feature was being tested by Instagram for quiet longer time, but now it is being rolled out for the user. Earlier the feature was available in Twitter, where you can look for hashtags and get connected with your hobbies, interests, passions and communities. Instagram on Wednesday launched a similar feature for its users
“Everyday, millions of people share photos and videos and tag them with relevant hashtags. Hashtags represent the many interests and passions of our community. To make these posts even more discoverable, we’re introducing hashtags you can follow,” the company said.
How to follow hashtags on Instagram-
This is exactly like following a friend. Search for a topic you are interested in or tap on a hashtag from any post. You will notice relevant hashtags search results along with related accounts.
When you find a hashtag you prefer, open up the hashtag site and click on the follow button. You’ll begin seeing top posts from that hashtag in your feed and some of the latest stories in your stories bar.
Just for instance, if you are photographer, you can create feeds full of inspiration by following photography-related hashtags — things like #photography,
#streetphotography, #weddingphotography, and #photojournalism.
You can always unfollow a hashtag at any time. Users can also check the hashtags other people follow in their information, expect you have enabled privacy settings. If you set your account to private, the hashtags you follow is only visible to your followers.
